PRIVACY POLICY AND INFO

Pain Cave is intended to be a positive venture, that collates race data from the various publicly available sources into one tidy source. This data is then used to provide some cool services such as leaderboards, sweepstakes, race previews etc. Fees charged are to cover costs and reimburse for the hundreds of hours of work it required to collate all this data. The intention is for Pain Cave to provide a service that benefits the trail running community in Aotearoa and all data displayed here is already publicly available on other sources. With that being said, I understand some people/events/companies may not want their information posted on Pain Cave and they can request their data to be removed by emailing info@paincave.co.nz. There is some more information below too, which hopefully alleviates any concerns.

HOW IS THE DATA COLLECTED

Data is collated from publicly available sources such as race timing websites.

WHAT IF I DON’T WANT MY DATA DISPLAYED?

Please contact me at info@paincave.co.nz and your data will be removed.

MY EVENT’S TIMING DATA IS ON HERE, CAN IT BE REMOVED?

Yes, once again email info@paincave.co.nz. Pain Cave is not here to cut anyone’s lunch or take anything away from your event. Quite the opposite, we have made an event calendar to promote all the amazing trail events around the country, and I’m open to collaborating in other ways too! This really is just a passion project from an overly enthusiastic trail runner.

WHO ARE YOU?

Good question! I frequently ask myself this too. My name is Brad Coleman, I am a data analyst by trade and an avid trail runner for the past ten years. I am the organiser of the Tip Track Marathon, an event that sends people up and down Wellington’s infamous Tip Track in the name of charity! My motivation for the Pain Cave is simple, I wanted all my own race results in one place and, since I love data so much, I decided to do it for everyone else as well. What started out as a weekend task quickly turned it several hundred hours of work. I am also an active member of Wellington Running Meetup (WoRM) and often seen around the hills of Wellington with my two retired greyhounds, Pax and Ruby.
