DESCRIPTION:This run is limited to 600 participants on the day. This Ultra caters for the beginner through to the Elite Ultra Athlete looking to do their fastest time. The Trail is a Grade 2 Mountain Bike Ride and does give some good uphill climbs\, with the finish a good downhill to the seafront finish in Hokitika\, total elevation is around 720m for the 100km run. “This is based off competitors records of 2021”.4 Fantastic Runs on the West Coast Wilderness Trail\, the 100km and 54km can be done as a Team of 2 or Individual. SUMMARY:Best Dam Backyard Ultra
DESCRIPTION:The Best Dam Backyard Ultra starting on 9 May 2026 is a last one standing event based at Otematata Wetlands in Canterbury. \n\n\n\nA Backyard Ultra is a form of ultramarathon race where competitors must consecutively run a 6.7km course in less than one hour\, every hour. If a runner does not finish a lap within the hour they DNF (Did Not Finish). The race finishes when one person completes one more lap than anyone else. \n\n\n\nThe course is on well marked trails with minimal elevation gain and scenic views of wetlands\, Lake Aviemore and mountains. It is the same as the day loop used by the NZ team in the 2024 World Team Championship.

DESCRIPTION:Sunday – 24th May 2026 \n\n\n\nA classic Barefoot XTRAIL course with a great old Woolshed by the Venue HQ. The courses take you through pine and native forest\, plus a fair amount of open well formed tracks. It’s a solid run\, with a bit of climbing\, but worthwhile for the views. This venue is everything an XTERRA trail should be and you will love it. Parking is at a bit of a premium\, so car pool if you can.

DESCRIPTION:Beautifully maintained showground fields in the suburbs of Whangarei City. The big open fields flow into some sheep farm paddocks at the backend of the course (the highest part of the loop) with some beautiful views over the countryside. The travel under foot is a mix of field\, farm\, single trail\, gravel road\, tarseal roading. Some native fauna and flora along the creek side. To make it interesting \, horse showjumping equipment will be placed for visual effect. Elevation gain of approx 100 mtrs. \n\n\n\nAn easy (until its not!)\, ever changing 6.71km lap that will suit all levels of backyarder.
