DESCRIPTION:This is a fun run & walk on the Remutaka Rail Trail through the Remutaka Ranges. We start at 254m above sea level and cruise up a shallow gradient (<1 in 40) all the way to the turn around near the summit. This is a scenic and historic route that is a jewel in the Wellington region. The steep\, bush clad valley\, the river below\, tunnels\, bridges and plenty of sweaty people make for a great morning out. This course can easily be negotiated by any modestly fit person. All distances are predominantly on hard packed gravel track. DESCRIPTION:The Riverhead Backyard ReLaps Ultra \n\n\n\nWho will be New Zealands’ Last Person Standing?\n\n\n\nComplete one 6.7km lap within an hour\, restart again on the hour….continue…until only one person is left to complete a lap.\n\n\n\nA Backyard Ultra is a type of ultramarathon where participants run laps of a set course of 6.706 metres (4.167 miles) and they must finish each loop in less than an hour. The race restarts each hour with all those that finished the previous lap on time.  The race is over when only one runner remains to complete a lap. This runner is marked as the winner and only finisher\, with all other runners receiving a DNF (Did Not Finish). The strange distance is because the distance for 24 laps is equal to 100 miles.

DESCRIPTION:Paraiti Catchment Care Group’s Flight of the Kōkako Trail Run on 28 March 2026 is an adventurous off road run in the Te Ranga district of Te Puke. \n\n\n\nWith distances of 5km\, 10km\, 16km and 21km\, there is something for everyone. The course traces the path of the Kōkako through native forest\, creek beds and beautiful farmland not usually accessible to the public. \n\n\n\nAll profits will be dedicated to enhancing and expanding the trapping network\, as well as planting native trees throughout the catchment\, with the goal of establishing a corridor that connects the two kōkako populations of Kaharoa and Otanewainuku. \n\n\n\nParticipants in the race will each have a native tree planted in their honour.

DESCRIPTION:Pure single track with the perfect balance of technical and runnable trail. Excellent course for those wanting to step up to these distances or try off road trail ultras for the first time.  \n\n\n\nElevation gain/loss approximately +/- 365m per lap. \n\n\n\nThe race format is a lap format on a 16km\, figure 8 (roughly) lap. The Northern loop is around 10km & run clockwise\, with The Southern loop of the lap of around 6km is run anticlockwise with the  with the total lap start/finish in the middle\, so effectively you will pass the aid station and finish area every half lap.
