SUMMARY:South Island Ultra
DESCRIPTION:This run is limited to 600 participants on the day. This Ultra caters for the beginner through to the Elite Ultra Athlete looking to do their fastest time. The Trail is a Grade 2 Mountain Bike Ride and does give some good uphill climbs\, with the finish a good downhill to the seafront finish in Hokitika\, total elevation is around 720m for the 100km run. “This is based off competitors records of 2021”.4 Fantastic Runs on the West Coast Wilderness Trail\, the 100km and 54km can be done as a Team of 2 or Individual. Covering the full length of the trail\, this event takes you from dense native forest to alpine tops\, across swing bridges\, and past dramatic limestone cliffs\, all on one of the country’s most spectacular backcountry journeys. \n\n\n\nRemote and mostly self-supported\, this ultra marathon is for experienced runners only\, ready to take on a true adventure. With limited aid on course\, you’ll need to be fit\, prepared\, and capable of looking after yourself in an unpredictable environment.
